Important information for Tokyo Marathon 2023 runners and volunteers can be found here.
This program began with the Tokyo Marathon 2015 to embellish the culture of running by uniting runners across Japan. Following year in 2016, we established “Semi-Elite (Overseas)” category to attract outstanding athletes from outside of Japan, who meet the criteria set forth, to compete in the event to raise the overall athletic level. The Tokyo Marathon, a member of the Abbott World Marathon Majors (AbbottWMM), will continue to implement variety of programs designed to cultivate the sport of running, attracting more runners within Japan and from overseas to experience a world-class race.
