The Tokyo Marathon Foundation is organizing various related events leading up to the Tokyo
Marathon 2026 [March 1, 2026]. Virtual Tokyo Marathon 2026 allows participation via running apps
from all over the world, The Friendship Run include exchange events with international runners,
the Family Run where parents and children can dash through the finish area together on the race
day, and the Running Festa campaigns where participants can enjoy services at shopping streets
and cooperating stores along the course. These events aim to generate excitement for the race day
and foster a sense of community.

◎Virtual Tokyo Marathon2026

The Virtual Tokyo Marathon 2026, which can be participated in from anywhere in the world via a running app, will be held from Saturday, February 14, 2026, to Sunday, March 8, 2026.
This event allows participants to challenge themselves at their preferred time and location. Beyond serving as training, it boosts every day running motivation through features such as rankings and digital finisher certificates.

Among all finishers, 100 runners will be selected by lottery to receive entry rights to the Tokyo Marathon 2027 (combined total for Individual and Pair categories).
* For the Pair category, the lottery result will be the same for both members of the pair.

◎Tokyo Marathon Friendship Run 2026

We will host a Fun Run event of approximately 5km with the aim of welcoming runners from overseas, fostering interaction among domestic and international runners, and strengthening unity.
Let's enjoy the Fun Run 5km together, embracing the theme of the Tokyo Marathon, “The Day We Unite.”

◎Tokyo Marathon Family Run 2026

On the morning of the Tokyo Marathon race day, there’s a Fun Run for elementary school students and their parents or guardians. 
This event not only sparks interest in the Tokyo Marathon and running but also encourages a broader curiosity and enthusiasm for sports. It’s a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to bond and create lasting memories through running. We hope you’ll join us and enjoy this special experience.

*Please be aware that entry and further details are available only in Japanese, and only those who can receive pre-race packet mailed to the residential address in Japan are eligible to attend this event.(not permissible to use a hotel as a residential address)

◎Tokyo Running Festa

The Tokyo Running Festa aims to liven up and revitalize the whole city alongside both the runners and the many supporters. Running Festa button badges will be given to participants of various events, including running events. Those who receive the button badges will be able to receive free gifts (services, discounts, etc.) at participating retailers when they present their button badge. Through these promotions, the foundation hopes to not only enliven the Tokyo running scene but also increase the number of customers visiting the participating retailers and facilities.
