To the Tokyo Marathon 2020 registered runners residing in People's Republic of China
On Thursday, February 6, 2020, we announced an option for the registered runners residing in People's Republic of China (residency according to the registered address by the date of February 1, 2020 regardless of the nationality) to defer their entry to the 2021 event, with the condition to pay the entry fee for the 2021. However, the condition has changed, and the entry fee for 2021 will not be charged to runners residing in People's Republic of China who defer their entry.
Japan has announced to expand the entry ban, and will also stop issuing visas for residents of People's Republic of China, causing them to have no choice but to cease the travel.
With the change of our condition for deferring the entry, we would like to sincerely request all registered runners for Tokyo Marathon 2020 residing in People's Republic of China to defer their entry voluntarily.
