  • April, 2004 The City of Tokyo, together with JAAF (Japan Association Of AthleticFederations), starts discussions towards holding a metropolitan marathon in 2005.
  • October 20, 2005 The City of Tokyo and JAAF sign a Basic Agreement on the Tokyo Marathon.
